The Waltz Country Dance was popular in Australia from the 1880s until the early 1900s. It is based on and is very similar to the earlier Spanish Waltz. It is danced in a Sicilian circle with couples facing each other. As such it is a good greet and meet dance.
Here it is danced to tradional tunes which include Starry Night, Planxty and Highland Cradle Song
The music is provided by the legendry dance band the Gay Charmers who were joined by friends many from the Emu Creek Bush band. Both bands have excellent dance cds available.
