  • have you guys heard the orignial version off the "who are you living for" album? It's basically the same exact thing as this. It's just when dispatch played this song live, there was never any distortion and it wasn't as intense. But when this song was first recorded it sounded very similar, if not the same (except for the small solos becuase it is a live song)

  • so this really is how its meant to be, haha awesome!

  • WOW! This is obviously back when UCONN was cool...

  • i'd say this is more of defining time served than covering it. i love dispatch, but i love the state radio version more.

  • i would have to disagree the studio version for time served from "who are we living for", dispatch's last studio album, is much heavier than state radio's version here. the live dispatch version is still great and i belive it lives up to its full potential.

  • Yeah, I've always seen Time Served, and one or two other Dispatch songs, as songs pinpointing a different direction for Chad musically, something that he lets shine through with SR. The album TS was all Chad, in vocals and heavy guitars, and feels like it was an entirely Chad-centric effort. And of course Dispatch as a whole never took to showing this song in its natural form when live, so they toned it down.

This song never fully grew into itself until State Radio took hold of it.

  • intense song much more intense when by SR than dispatch

  • Exactly. This song is a State Radio song through and through. All other incarnations are good, but every time SR plays it it proves that it should have been a State Radio song from the start, and deserves to be. Mad Dog all the way.

  • This is Maddog's song. All previous versions, while some may be great, are null in comparison.
