Prospect Park-bound Franklin Avenue Shuttle train of R68s running above Dean Street. A station existed here until 1995. It was demolished when the entire line was rebuilt in 1998-99.

  • dosent it have 4 cars?

  • before 1998, it used 4 R32s

  • they should at least put the R32s on the shuttle. i would really be happy to see that happen

  • the franklin avenue shuttle used to have R32s

  • Man that Dean Street station used to be grimy! Matter of fact, so was Park Place and Franklin Ave. Crackheads always trying to sell you a transfer. White folks don't play when they move in.

  • racist?

  • Man, I miss Dean Street! What a junky station! Hell, the whole Shuttle line up until the renovations of the late-90's! But I still loved it! Those crusty-ass wooden platforms (the way they would rumble when the S was coming!), the busted lights, Botanic Garden! Lol! I really loved it. And I really, REALLY miss it. Riding the S today is like riding the LIRR out on the island. It's nice, but there's no excitement anymore.

  • BROOKLYN FOREVER, BABY!!!!! I love my fuckin' borough! (Even though the yup-pups--late-90's/early-2000's yuppies--have gentrified pretty much most of the southwest portion of Kings County into what it is now.) Riding the S today may not be as exciting as it was 20-25 years ago, but I am glad it's still around. So much Brooklyn rail history associated with that line (Malbone Street, 1918; Fulton EL connection; etc.) It's kinda fun telling these "swag" kiddies about riding the "S" 2 decades ago.

  • Man, that track is long.

  • Cool! Last I had read a while back, this shuttle was slated to be retired and the El structure torn down. Glad to see it's still in service.

  • Digable Planets- Blackitolism (9th Wonder) Was filmed here, the beginning anyways

  • hard 2 believe a station was really there

  • thats cool i like history i mean train history normal history is boring
