@xxxthehooplexxx No need to apologize, I can't even say I fully disagree with you. I would bet most people that visit his video's are simply guitarist like me who are impressed with his technique.
This is probably my favourite Rusty Cooley song and I have to say it's ..alright at best. I'm sorry guys I consider myself open-minded when it comes to music and I certainly don't hate Rusty Cooley. Technically he can hold a torch to any other shredder absolutely. I just don't like his style of lead play it's kind of redundant and uninteresting in my opinion. Furthermore, his songs are just average at best there kind of cool but not really. I am sorry guys hes ALRIGHT imho....
@kilipeti I agree with you, alot of people worship Syn, but in my opinion, he cannot be compared in anyway to most shredders, especially Rusty. It's like comparing Elementary Math to Srinivasa Ramanujan, meaning it's pointless, and not applicable.
I actually sent that video to a friend. It's cool to see Rusty jazzing it up. That video of Syn screwing up his sweeping seems to be the focal point in anti-Syn arguments for a brief second. That's one video of him playing sloppy versus the rest where is exceptionally clean and doing much harder stuff than the stuff in that video. He was probably drunk or nervous.
I've once found a little jazz impro by Rusty, video taken by one of his students. Wow hell what he did in just one minute was amazing. He U.N.D.E.R.S.T.A.N.D.S. Music for sure, anybody who says Rusty is just a freak playing meaningless shit extremely fast should think a bit and see to him.
@Fluffypopcicle well, experimental metal? lol'd. I would like to point out two things about gates. The video in which he 'teaches" sweeping is just a bunch of big shit, noisy technique as hell. The other thing is that I've once heard a live impro solo by him and it was like when somebody practises. It was just some very easy and early-to-teach-to-a-guitarist scales and patterns played fairly fast to boredom.
@Fluffypopcicle anyways, this is an argument that has gone on for i don't know how long. You made some fair points, and appear to know more about music than the other a7x fans. I don't know how we got to the 'generic metalcore' thing, since my initial point was that syn was not an amazing shredder by today's standard. But anyway, it looks like we're gonna have to agree to disagree, at the risk of making the first 2 pages just our comments. Anyway, we're both hear to listen to RC

this is the most desperate and embarassing song of his. When I'm listening to it I feel a very dark, humiliating emotion. It's like... scary!

Agreed. No point in arguing any further.
