My first video! It's not entirely perfect but after weeks of practice and hours of trying to do it properly on video, it just seems like this is the best I can do.
Still working on my form and technique, among other things:)

This is a short chord progression that I learnt in this basic piano workshop almost a month ago. Apparently Jay Chou used this progression in some of his songs;)

  • I hope that you continue to learn about chord variations. I noticed that you played mostly in the root position. Try to learn all the inversions of the chords that you've played in this video, and implement different chords on different passage. You'll notice the difference, vs. when you only play on the root, where the dominant sound (e.g. the G note on the C chord (C E G)) was there all the time.

    Good job.

  • @monsterpanda

Thanks very much for the advice:) Yeah, I sorta wanted to to do everything in its "original" state for my first video, if that makes sense...so I did lots of root position chords here;D Yep, I'm still learning about, and mostly practising harmonising chords with random melodies more smoothly. Hard work, but at least I get to listen to music while working, haha!:D

Again, thanks lots for your advice, I'll do as you suggested and work on inversions. Thanks for watching!

  • Great playing Sir :D

  • well done, keep it up and have fun :)

  • lol, thank you! you're very kind:) I actually took basic pop piano lessons for 6 months before stopping it temporarily about a month ago, so I'm not sure if I'm still a beginner...The lessons didn't cover fingers techniques and the likes though, so my form is really rough:(
