Here is PM 1225 & NKP 765 passing through Marion, MI and than through Clare, MI in the dark. The excursion was from Alma to Cadillac, MI on the old Ann Arbor RR mainline. This part is today owned by the Great Lakes Central. This is the return trip to Alma, MI

  • was that 1225's original whistle

  • @Strasburg1991 I believe that is the original whistle on 1225. 765 had 2 whistles that day. It's normal one and a low pitched hooter. May have been a whistle off a N&W J 4-8-4 (611).

  • @criind were 1225s whistles in 91 and 07 the same or different just courious

  • @Strasburg1991 That's the same whistle 1225 has had since I've been chasing it. The first time I saw it was in '98.

  • Why did they take so long to come back? We got there about 5:30 and we waited till 8:30 and the train never came to Alma, and yet they said they would be back at 7pm. What caused them to take so long to come back?

  • Not sure what caused the delay. They didn't leave Cadillac until after 5pm. They had the train there to load before 4pm. They than did 2 run-bys in Lucas before stopping in Marion to drop off people. They went through Clare at about 7:50pm.

  • @criind what were 1225's whistles

  • ok thanks fortheupdateKleman09

  • @Strasburg1991 763 will not be steaming up anytime soon. At this time Jerry Jacobs is building a roundhouse and shop complex to service and store his steam locomotives. 763 is on hold for now.

  • yeah and 763 s gonna steam soon. hopefully disguise her as C&O 2765

  • @Railroadtrip445 `got that right! If only all of the NKP berks left would do a 6 hradder, that would be cool. too bad #779 will never realy run again.

  • It is always great to see these 2 together they are 2 train sister and they are Limas Finest Berkshires
