All About My Mother is a passionate hymn to the strength and spirit of women; a kaleidoscopic drama embracing motherhood, love and desire; a homage to the great Hollywood movies.

Samuel Adamson's new play brings the multi-award winning film of All About My Mother to the stage. The screen version won international acclaim and an Oscar for Pedro Almodóvar. In a career spanning 30 years his other films have included Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Talk to Her and Volver. Adamson's other work includes Southwark Fair and a version of Pillars of the Community, both at the National Theare.

Director Tom Cairns' recent productions include Aristocrats at the National, Phaedre at the Donmar and The Tempest at the Royal Opera House. Music is by long-term Almodóvar collaborator, Alberto Iglesias, with a new stage score by Ben and Max Ringham.

  • does anyone know whos music is this??

    I love it !!!

  • I love Pedro Almodovar because he so understands the reality of life, we all know life is sometimes greater and more interesting than fiction, he approaches the subjects no one else dares... Bravo Pedro..C

  • of course the movie is better, almodovar is a genius!

  • gutted to of missd this i love Almodóvar i love mujered al brinco de un ataque de nervios

  • Almodócar came on the opening night (the night I went.) This play was done with his full consent and blessing. He even turned up to some of the rehearsals. This was amazing on stage, however, I do feel I got more from it because I've seen the film on numerous occasions, however, being a Spanish speaker, I don't feel it lost out on anything in translation. The acting, directing and writing was spot-on and I hope the play is put on again in the not too-distant future!

  • Believe it or not I've not seen the film. I've been meaning to though.

  • Is it better than the movie? Cause the movie is my all time favourite ;)

  • Again, if you want to translate a play meant to be in Spanish into English, fine, but at least watch the original version as well.

  • This show is incredible - moving, imaginative and basically the most refreshing show in London right now. I booked using a special offer. I got brilliant seats for just £25 by calling the Box Office 0870 060 6628 and ask for the "web offer".

  • This play is amazing; I highly recommend it.
