As I was saying, as a result, David's savior, & our savior, came through the lineage of David. That, among other things, tells you God's heart, not only toward David, but toward anyone else who admits they have sinned against God. He is merciful toward us even when we don't deserve it when we admit our sin and don't try to pretend we haven't.
Read the Psalms & all of David's life recorded in scripture to get the whole picture. When King Saul pursued David to kill him, David repeatedly had opportunity to kill Saul, but he knew that he was God's annointed king and would not lay a hand on him. When Saul was confronted with his sin, he made excuses and blamed his sin on others. When David was confronted with his sin by Samuel, he made no excuses & admitted he had sinned against God. As a result
In answer to the question, the fact that David was a man in pursuit of God's heart at least at one point in his life and later committed sins says nothing about God's heart but says a lot about man's heart. The Bible says that our hearts are deceitful and desperately wicked. This is why we need to have Jesus as Lord of our life and believe in His Resurrection in order to be born again and receive eternal life
Here is why this is important. Nowhere does it say that God was after David's heart, but David was after God's heart (after=in pursuit). This was the case when he was anointed to be the next king. Obviously he was after something else when he committed the offenses that the video points out.
I think that someone should first address some errors in fact in the video. First, it was not Paul in one of his letters that said David was a man after God's heart. Luke records in Acts that Paul quoted Samuel, the Old Testament prophet, who said that God was taking the kingdom from Saul and giving it to David, a man after God's heart. (more to follow)

You left out the most important parts of David's life in this video! I believe it to be a misrepresentation of scripture. I'm sure the intentions were good, but maybe next time stick to the Bible in its context. What was left out was the fact that David never rejected God even in all his sins....when God pointed out his sin, he was remorseful, repentant, and got back on his feet to try again. THAT is what made him a Man After God's Heart. And yes, he was indeed punished for his sins.
and believe me David got punish for his sins. and he repented. and also in one of Paul's letters he says that he doesn't want to not sin but his flesh keeps him sinning this is the same for David.
in the letter Paul says a man after God's heart. not God after David's heart. every body has done all those horrible sins that David did and more. Romans 3:23 NKJV for all have sinned and fallen sort of the glory of God.
James 2:10 King James Version (KJV) 10For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. so really were just as bad as David. (don't believe me? do a search for the ten commandments). continued in next comment.
Great video.
