This is clearly Coltrane playing, featured with Hodges' band. You can hear how he plays to fit in with that band, without sacrificing his modernity. Never shows off, he knows who the leader is; just plays beautifully. I had never heard this, it's quite a revelation. Thanks for putting it up.

I like how you can pick up the sounds of people going on with their lives in the background. It's not like a concert where there are people going nuts. It sounds like people just sitting in a restaurant chatting and stuff.

It's a ballad dumbass! it's supposed to be slow. it's still bebop, just listen to the lines, it's bebop influenced by all the great tenor soloists, hawkins, webster, rollins, get a clue!
