David du Plessis Talks On Wigglesworth Prophecy

David recounts the story of Smith Wigglesworth prophesying over him that he would take the pentecostal experience to ALL the mainline denominations--not just to pentecostals.

David Johannes du Plessis (February 7, 1905 - January 31, 1987) was a South African-born Pentecostal minister, and is considered one of the main founders of the charismatic movement, in which the Pentecostal experience spread to non-Pentecostal churches worldwide.

He was converted to evangelical Christianity at 16, and received what Pentecostals call the Baptism of the Holy Spirit at the age of 18, a spiritual experience accompanied by speaking in tongues. He was ordained in 1928 by the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa, and moved to the United States in 1949, where his ordination was transferred to the Assemblies of God.

Originally shunning other movements, he became an active believer in ecumenism, beginning his efforts in the 1950s to share the Pentecostal experience with Christians in the historic denominations, chiefly Roman Catholicism. His main gateway into ecumenism was through his friendship with John McKay, then President of Princeton Seminary, New Jersey. McKay invited Du Plessis to address the International Missionary Council in Willingen, West Germany, in 1952. There he earned the nickname "Mr Pentecost".

It's the same old same, everytime god brings forth a move to heal and restore his people thru his apostles and prophets the religious luke warm demonized church has tol reer there ugly head. If jesus himself were here still doing miracles the leodician church wouls still fight the move of god

Learn from forefathers...learn from the BIBLE and stop looking for A word from God and start listening to THE Word of God = the Bible. But no we are quick to rather follow the unbiblical teachings of false prophets with messages that tickle our ears because we don't want to hear about holy and sin. NONE of these false teachers EVER had any of thier prophecies come true or REALLY healed somebody. Every just gets side tracked with lies instead of living holy lives abstaining from sin as in Bible.

@timdurgan You miss the point. The prophecy did not predict that Jesus would hear of him. It spoke of events (the "greatest", actually) in Christian history.
