@jourdy288 Yes, I suppose a Classical period composer and a Romantic period composer could be said to possess "two separate styles altogether". I just don't understand why you would want to compare them, particularly in a qualitative sense? Both were obviously brilliant and if you prefer Mozart to Tchaikovsky it simply isn't Tchaikovsky's fault, it's yours. Both were masters of themselves as artists, there really is not much more to say and much to appreciate.

I agree with bones11186. I prefer a full orchestra when it comes to classical music but still I think this Concert Band executed the music very well. They had good balacne, the dynamics were on point and the articulation was great. Overall a great performance.
..no strings =/

I like Tchaikovsky, but in my opinion, I don't think he can compare to Tchaikovsky in terms of inertia and intensity. Nothing against Mozart or his fans but I don't think he really gets started in his songs. Bye the time the climax of the song comes, you don't really realize it. Tchaikovsky really built and built, and bam! It hits you. Again, I appreciate Mozart, I loved Rondo Alla Turca, but I think him and Tchaikovsky are two separate styles altogether.
