From Temari.com---
"A thousand year old craft from Japan, Temari is traditionally given as a gift. From humble beginnings as simple toy balls for children's play, Temari create a magnetic effect on viewers today. As a spectacular decorating focal point, the puzzle of the design is mesmerizing. The concept is elegantly simple, the end result is simply elegant!

Temari opens up a whole new range of territory for stitchers to explore. Stitches can go in any direction because of the random wrapped thread surface of the ball. They are not limited to up and down, side to side and diagonally as with traditional stitchery."

"As you cast your eyes upon them, take pleasure in the moment. What do you see? How do you feel?"

  • beautiful

  • Some brilliant designs and very interesting ideas. Great to see - thank you!

  • These things are absolutely beautiful! I know nothing about Temari. Gonna go research. The idea of making one just gives me hives though. The patterns so perfect and well thought out. And so meticulously executed. As you said "so foreign to my clumsy hands."
