I grew up with this song. I was about 6 when it was released. My brother used to constantly work-out to it in our loft. Absolutely love it!

I will tell you, it's very hard now a days to find a music artist or just music in general like this! This song had a beat, great rifts and awesome lyrics, the song, the way Chaka Khan sings this is pure energy! You can hear it, it's as if she gains elevation while singing this song. I'll tell you what, music for the most part today can't hold a candle to music of this era. This is when music was cutting edge, all the while being clean! I miss the 1980's terribly, today it's about bad remakes!

I love the quality of her voice in this song. That raspiness is a nice touch. I bet this was recorded when she was touring or very busy.
