The 2007 National elections are approaching in Nigeria. People & Power reporter Juliana Ruhfus and director Hazel Chandler travel to the conflict ridden and oil rich Niger Delta to explore what is at stake. Only a month to go until the elections, and the Ogoni people opt for non-violence whilst confusion reigns supreme at a government rally where no one seems to know who will stand as governor.

  • Igbos are now laughing at you Ogoni and Ikwere people.

The Igbo brain is their oil. Go to Igboland and see how it has beomce developed since the war, because Ibos are world class business people. They are in every country on earth making to money for their borthers and sisters. Nollywood is a creation of the Ibos. Japan Taiwan can only have plants in Nigeria only if Ibos could run it.

  • PDP... peoples democratic people.

  • Alexokoh, you are a sick and ignorant racist, so keep your inane slurs to yourself.

    Best wishes.

  • nigeria should have never got thier political freedom, from the british. All you have now is a bunch of dirty niggers, that are stealing, and helping thier colonial handlers, distroy the rest of the country.nigeria needs a real dictator, like saddam, who told the brits and the yankees and their zionist jews to go to hell.long live gadafi. castro . chavez, and hitler. they all agree on one thing fuck the zionist jews and tthier pattners in crime usa, england and the rest of you white motherfuckers

  • any country where people carry photos of leaders around have lost sight of the issues and of the purpose of elections.these are often the most illiterate countries and as such, the people in these countries are vulnerable to being deceived by their leaders in continuous cycles of elections.

  • i wonder what nigerian politics is really all about ?

  • i agree with ogasa4 in all entirety. Couldn't have put it any better. yet my ppl are still praying to a God who have chosen for reasons best known to Him,to ignore their pleas for half a century!Like my yoruba ppl often say " take ur destiny in ur own hands"!

  • Well, I disagree with all 3 of you above; god is a creation of man. It is a figment of our curious imagination. We, our ancestors that is, created it as the answer to all the wonders they witnessed yet have no explanation for, or the slightest inkling of explanation. It was then, as it is now, a lazy yet convenient answer to many whys, whats, whos, whens, hows, whose, e.t.c. If he exists, he has a lot to answer for, way more than measurable. His crimes against humanity alone are UNFORGIVABLE.

  • hahaha your true
