  • Nothing more beautiful than a prototype or near prototype length model train of any consist and diesels. Its what separates the men from the boys, the real modelers from the passerbys.

  • @JIMBOSKI58

I agree! I'm about the only one in my area that has this mentality. Everyone else runs a 5 car train and calls it a representation of the real thing. My trains averaged 50-60 cars...my record was 150 car coal drag with a rear DPU.

  • Nice layout! Looks like you have some really cool stuff, but where are the sound equipped locomotives?

  • @SFLRailFan

I actually have a couple of other videos on here with sound-equipped engines. I seem to recall only having three of them when I dismantled the layout. They're all sitting in boxes now.

  • Nice layout! If theyre all in boxes would you be interested in selling any of your intermodal equipment?

  • @NSmodeler24 Well, I'm still laboring under the delusion that I'll have the space to reinstall this layout in the future. I've toyed with the idea of selling everything, but I've decided to hang on to it for now.

  • that's awesome!

  • I run long trains too. Another club member has this 40' long Military Train. I love to count by 5 everytime it goes by. Of course if he really had only $5 in every car it would be a bargain but still alot of money.

  • @anb740 Im sure if everybody could do this, they would. Keep in mind that a 60-150 car train costs alot of money, and space to run. Not everybody has that. I would LOVE to have the layout you have and if i had the time, space, and money to make the layout i would, but i dont, and neither do alot of other people. Still I give you props on a very nice layout.

  • @JIMBOSKI58 Bro, you're outta control! I'm sort of in the same boat: I like long trains, but space is limited.

  • Just completed assembling, painting (finally) 50 blue box Southern Pacific Athearn 26' ore cars (Kaiser Steel) that were purchased in the 70's and 80's. Have bought 6 six-pack of the same in RTR recently for a total of 86 cars. Live in an apartment, so I bought some 1' x 8' shelfing board and mounted them on the wall. Occasionally lay them on the carpet with turn around track under the bed and another in the living room. No scenery but the length is impressive. Four SP U28c haul them.

  • @zmsanders You got a deal. I need to get the thing out of my garage!

  • I might sell my brand new Autorack car Norfolk Southern. Since it's useless because of the tracks and we have no more space. All for around $32.00

  • Alright just though ide ask. If you change your mind though just let me know. haha thanks!
