McMurray Hatchery's Best Chicken Coop Controller is more than just a door opener. It does open the coop door a few min before sunrise and close the door a few minutes after sunset with use of an electronic light sensor. The door can also be operated manual with the use of a three-position toggle switch; Night, Day, and Automatic Modes.

The controller is also equipped with a temperature sensor that will not allow the door to open until outside temperature is above 25 degree F. This feature protects your birds from freezing temperatures and also helps keep your coop warmer. If the outdoor temperatures rise above 25 degrees F. any time during daylight the door will automatically open. It will remain open until a few minutes after sunset.

It has been known for many years that chickens lay more eggs if they receive 16 hours of light a day. We have built in to Murrays Best Chicken Coop Controller a light timer that turns on a LED light panel eight hours after sunset. In this way the chickens will receive their supplemental light just before sunrise and the door opening. This early morning artificial light will stimulate the hens and help them to lay their eggs prior to the door opening.

The LED light panel is one of the most efficient sources of light on the market today. It has an output equivalent to a 60 watt incandescent bulb. The controller and light operates on a safe and efficient 12 volt transformer which is plugged into a standard 110 volt outlet.

  • When the door is installed properly, the bottom of the door slides past the bottom of the opening by 1/2 inch. This leaves no room for raccoons to get their claws under the door. The door is also made of slick plastic so that raccoons cannot get a grip on it to lift it.

  • i need something like this for a traped door any ideas

  • lol what if one of the chickens is wondering outside when it close

  • @tmgibs34 LOl no kidding. these people are making my kids pets the most expensive living quarters in the neighborhood. For that price it better be gold plated. anybody with just a little knowledge of electronics could built that from scratch. Possibly do a better job as well.

  • I am very excited about this product. There is nothing like this anywhere else. Nice work!

  • I buy standard chicks from a feed store. McMurray's is cheaper than their chicks meant for large farms. I worry about the shipping cost. Anyone can give me a heads up. What will cost more the shipping or the 15 chicks.

  • This doesn't look secure from coons etc. They can easily penetrate this door.

  • Nice door controller... Thought I'd buy it... Ahhhh No, I think you have been smoking weed, I'm not paying almost 300 bucks for a chicken door.
