The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on its Web site late Sunday night that the Packers have had preliminary contact with the Vikings on a potential deal for the longtime Green Bay quarterback.

Despite of the fantastic performance of Aaron Rodgers in the Super Bowl, I will NEVER forget Brett Favre and the Super Bowl title he brought home to Green Bay. Brett will be a Packer icon for years to come. I wish him nothing but the best!

So how dumb does Ted Thomspon look now, all you Favre fanatics? I said at the time that TT was doing the right thing for the future of the franchise. Favre said he was done, and the front office took him at his word. If they would have let him come back, it would have set Rodgers' development back another season, and he may well have asked for a trade, to go someplace where he could play. If not for TT standing up to Brett Favre, the Packers may not have won Super Bowl 45.
