Well they're not specifically providing security, more like a free education and trade school...by the way I have to pay for my child's schooling. Go figure.
-
You wouldn't call them "security forces" if you actually saw them in action in the compound...

oopsy! did I say worse? my bad, I meant to say wuss.

if you need any form of therapy after you return from Bucca, honestly, you are a worse and a waste of the military's time. Bucca was a cake walk. It is up north that has the real action. That's right I said it.

Very cool video! My hubby is at Bucca now. He said it's like Groudhog Day...same thing everyday but he doesn't complain much! Thanks for doing what you did and serving our Country!

Are you kidding me....Do you realize how many of these soldiers need therapy after they return...not to mention the effect it has on those who need it before they even go away...this has a profound and lasting effect not only on the soldier but their family and loved ones. I can personally say I will never be the same for having to go through this ordal and I will never even know half of what is going on.

Who said anything about that? You need to calm down and be more secure.....

Hit on a few girls....being a married man...my point exactly....
I wonder what is actually going on in the heads of those "smiling," "half-smiling" and stone cold faces. Notice the last comment only said he did "hard-time." My husband will soon be there and I am not looking forward to him returning after expriencing those things and the way he will have changed into a person I do not know.

Bucca doesn't tend to be a lot of fun. It all depends on what you make of it. No matter where you go, it always changes you. Most of the time in small ways that most people "outside" never really see.

If it is not alot of fun, does that mean there is alot of porn, prostitution, drugs, tattooing etc. going on to keep you occupied and entertained? I cannot imagine that one is only changed in "small ways" to someone who knows you. A year apart in another world that someone else cannot ever understand is a huge gap that can't be understood by the average person. I do not mean to compare Iraq to Vietnam but no one can say those who were there did not come back identifiably unchanged.

Seriously? It's a military camp, not prison. I hot the gym, played softball and used the computer to keep in touch with home.
Imagine it or not, some people come back exactly the same. Some people go through some things that change them forever.
Can't say I'm all that much different then when I went.
