for most of my life, I could take or leave the boss... but at 36 years old, this song burrowed into my head, and I've been obsessed. It's kind of sad at 19 I've just discovered Bruce Springsteen, since my family is very UK/Irish about pop and rock, particularly from the 80s. I've known Joy Division longer... but I love The Boss, it's like he put suffering in a bottle and smashed it against the wall, admiring the shards that fall...
