"Bat"-man Gordon Post Catches Mariner Sweeney's Bat

In the bottom of the 6th Inning at 8:10 pm, Oakland A's vs. Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field, on a 0-1 pitch from A's pitcher Anderson., Mariner Mike Sweeney lost his bat and it flew into the 3rd base crowd. Our neighbor, Gordon Post had taken his sons to the game as it was youngest son's Jacks birthday. Gordon caught the bat in the air and Mariner's commentator Mike Blowers noted Gordon was a hero, saying "Nice catch, saved some people down there."
