Obi-Wan is losing his belief in the Jedi Order, the Senate, Anakin, and his life.
After Qui-Gon dies, he starts thinking he has nothing that he can believe in.
So thru-out his life from episode II-III, he searches for something to believe in.
Wether it's Anakin, the Jedi Order, or the Senate, they all fail him.
And after everything has happened, and it all seems lost he finds it in the galaxy's new hope: Luke. So the final shot he's a hermit on tatooine looking over his final hope.
