Steve Jones runs an 11.67 @ 179.6 km/h (111.6 mph) in the unmodified Nissan R35 GTR. It hits the 180km/h speed limiter before passing the finish line. Perth Motorplex, Western Australia 20-02-2008.

Yesterday Steve Jones drove this R35 GTR to outright victory in the 2008 Targa West rally, ahead of Jim Richards in the Porsche GT2.

So what if the Z06 is marginally quicker down the 1/4(it does weigh over 300kg less and holds a hp advantage over the GTR).

In the racing world the GTR with superior braking,cornering ability and unrivalled stability would exit any corner faster and therfore have the Z06 playing catch up around almost any circuit.

The Z06 does seem at home at the strip with its 7L v8,although what im trying to say is that drag racing is not the GTR's purpose and that it is a better balanced all round supercar!

guys i hate to magazine race, but Road&Tracks issue said the GTR ran a 0-60 in 3.1 and 1/4 mile in 11.4.

but everyone knows on different days, different drivers , different weather cars get different times.

@jared9691 Now put that phoon on a racetrack - you know - with corners and stuff. You don't buy a GTR for it's straight line performance.

my 5,000$ rx7 still beats this gtr.... weighs considerably less weight too... imma upload videos of autocrossing soon... but to beat that gtr i gotta use drag radials... so on street tires my car currently runs about 11.6 after dyno it will be like 11.3 on street tires and after suspension mods might hit 11.0

but its all ok... i dont care if i win or lose im not betting money on any race... because i dont even got a turbo to go fast

handeling. i own a r35gtr n trust me there is no Australian made car that will ever get close to it. the comodores are the most crashed cars in Australia followed by the fords, n none of them are the top sellin car in Australia.. n its not only the crap drivers.. gata hand some credit to the amazingly stupid engineers who just keep adding power n size to the engines making them heavier n les fule efficient n forgetting abt airo dynamics, weight distribution, suspension n breaking technologies..

LOL as has been said, big deal. Put them on a circuit and the GTR will shit all over the F6. Along with better build quality and much nicer interior too.

No it's not overpriced. You don't buy a GTR just becaue it can run 11.6 down the 1/4 mile. You buy it because it has incredible ability around a track and is able to beat cars more than 3 times its price e.g koenigsegg CCX, Porsche turbo and GT2, 430 scuderia, Lambo LP640 and Pagani Zonda F just to name a few. Now that's good value. Believe me, a Nissan GTR uses more expensive parts than a Typhoon.
