The Riverdale Arts Project
A digital storytelling venture, the Riverdale Arts Project is a partnership with Newcomer Womens Services of Toronto (NEW), made possible through a grant from the Cultural Human Resources Council. During the summer 2008, immigrant women and women over the age of 55 from the Riverdale community have been gathering together to work on a series of short stories, each representing something of significance to them relating to their life in Canada. The women produced stories, art work and photography while learning computer, art and public speaking skills. This has resulted in a series of 2 minute digital stories that will be posted on the both the WSC and the NEW website in October.
