Women's Media Center Progressive Girls Voices Journalists head to the 2011 Sundance Film Festival to raise awareness about gender disparity in Filmmaking.

The Women's Media Center thanks the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, the Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film, The Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania, Global Media Monitoring Project, American University's Women & Politics Institute, Media Matters, and NPR for their research on women in the media.

  • Thank you, Women's Media Center, and Progressive Girls Voices journalists - this is a concise, beautiful resource that conveys vital, shocking, infuriating information. Anyone who sees this will never think of media the same way again - and that's a good, world changing thing.

  • Men go overseas and get their limbs blown off just so you can live in complete comfort, and you still talk shit about them. Why shouldn't I be disgusted with you?

  • Oh man.... just give it a rest...

  • I want this video on my SL75 phone.

  • its great that they bring awarness to this, but people need to think about the fact that men are also dicriminated against in many ways.

  • @kinggilgamesh76 Good point

  • follow me @DOSA_Reality

  • I just got censored out when I tried to post a comment about the new Jenny Craig ad featuring Mariah Carey very sexualized, part by part, not as a whole woman. The description of the ad was that it shared Jenny's view of promoting healthy habits in women. Disagreed and got censored.

  • women will always blame men for their unhappiness in life

  • I don't think that people choose not to watch films written by a female writer because they are "scared of women". I don't think people are particularly scared of women in the first place, much less base their entertainment choices around them. I mean, there's very few female comedians as well. It has nothing to do with sexism and "men trying to keep the women out". It has to do with more people buying tickets to see men then women.

  • The only thing I took away from this video is that women litter 50% more than men by dropping statistic sings
