Should the ends of the metal ridge vent be open? If not, how are they sealed off from weather and bugs? Thanks.

@Brettwp1 Hey Brett, the Air-Vent makes rubber end caps that fit right into the ends ... just a little Geocel Tripolymer Sealant strategically placed, and you're good to go.

The other manufacturers, like GAF, make end caps as well, and they're just about interchangeable ...

Well then baseballgrader, you haven't seen a 10 Year Old TAMKO weathered wood shingle.

They actually turn a really light "brownish pink". When you do a repair and use a new TAMKO weathered wood shingle, it looks almost "black" -- it's so much darker than the faded one.

I know they have TAMKOs down there in the Carolinas where you are . . . we get big batches of 'em up here where they did complete subdivisions with the exact same shingle . . . hundreds of homes!
