It's been a year, how's that HVAC Superpro been working for you?
Are the joints holding up?
Thanks,
Rich

That sucks. Were you able to heat up the joint and pull it apart then reapply the glue?

R410A also has Much higher discharge temperatures which also results in more flex (expansion and contraction) of the copper joints it is used on.. I was able to easily heat the pipe and pull it apart where the glue residue is easily removed with a wire pipe brush and sanding cloth.. in my opinion an R410A heatpump puts joints through a very rigorous test.. seeing temps of -10f in defrost and upwards of 175(discharge) f in a heavy load cool cycle..

OK So I thought i would make an update... last year i lost the suction line joint (5/8") on that same unit.. that left 2 joints in another unit with HVAC super pro.. this weekendI got a low charge indicator on that unit.. first place i went was the comopressor discharge line repair i did 2 years ago.. and found a visual leak at one of the 2 HVAC super pro joints... my guess is that HVAC super pro may be fine for R-22 systems.. but R410 has much higher pressures.. esp in Heat-pumps..

heated up and came apart super easy.. trouble is there is only about 3/8" of sleeve on the evaporator tail-piece.. I think HVAC super pro likes a deeper Joint.. the glue cleaned right out and I staybrite-8'd it right up.. I know I know everyone brazes but i didnt want to get the aluminum part of the tail-piece too hot that is only a couple inches from this copper joint.. no leaks now....
