@proboscic "wie ein Vogel könnte ich singen, singen, singen
breit' die Arme aus als hätt' ich tausend Schwingen und ich lass mich
immer weiter, weiter treiben,
will mein Glück in alle Wolken schreiben..."
Oh ja, sie selber muss ein Stück vom Himmel sein!

Es spielt das Wiener Volksopernorchesterunter Franz Allers! Sie singt einfach zum Heulen schön!
-
which orchestra? it's doing a great job accompanying!

Merci eradesso ! Mmmm???

A good composition sung by one of the very best. She's divine!

The supreme right is that I state a fact whereas you saying no one can sing today is, to put it in easy words for you, disillusional bullshit.
If you can't distinguish a fact from a personal opinion then I'm not surprised you can't recognize the many good and recognisable singers on today's scene.
And yes, you are again looking down on people.
-
It is even more horrible to say that people who make statements about how singers were recognisable by their voices and styles is" annoying" too. You are entitled to diminish whoever you like but then is it OK for me to do the same thing or is it only you that has the supreme right? By the way I am not looking down on people who like that woman, I am using the fact that they FAVOURITE her as a yardstick of exceptionally bad taste, in opera or any other kind of music.
-
It's horrible look down on people who listen to other genres solely because you listen to Opera even though I personally think Opera, unlike any other genres, is a form of ART and can be considered the only form of "singing" by a musical point of view. That said, I would never diminish a Whinehouse fan as much as I wouldn't like someone to diminish my love for Opera.
I am entitled to diminish a Netrebko or Bartoli or Bocelli fan because THOSE are imposters.

The point you're missing is that I do agree that generally speaking the schooling and style of nowadays singers' can't be compared with those from the old days. GENERALLY SPEAKING.
It is a whole different story to say, as you did and as I disagreed with, that basically nowadays there is NO singer worth listening to. With that I strongly disagree.
-
Would you forgive me if I disagreed with you? There might well be "amazing" Baroque singers running around today but we are not discussing them at the moment. You agree with petelovesbevsills and then disagree with me, am I missing something here? to quote,
"Miss the days when fame was based on talent and not on money spent on marketing by labels.. luckily there are still many connaisseurs around here! "
When i first heard Cristina in the early 1970's I loved her so much. This is a reminder of a bygone era when we had stunning sopranos who each had their own trademarks and were instantly identifiable BRAVA !!!!!!
