HOW TO VIEW IN 3D:

23 August 2010 Update: Please note that the 3D menu is now embeded into the new YouTube player. Just mouse over the button labeled "3D" and the menu will pop up.

Click on the "3D View Style" menu then select how you'd like to view. You can only see this menu on the video page itself and not on a channel page. You can get out your 3D glasses and choose "Red/Cyan" which are pretty common. If you don't have glasses, then select "Cross-eyed" or "Parallel" and cross you eyes slightly or focus behind the screen to make the 2 videos overlap into 1. If you're not able to overlap images with your eyes, you may want to just purchase a cheap pair of glasses somewhere online or buy a 3D movie from the store and use those glasses. Don't forget to click the full screen button on the bottom right of the video player if you are viewing with glasses. It looks and pops out way more awesome. Sorry, Disney's fancy RealD polarized glasses don't work here on YouTube.

IF THIS DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU:
- Cross-eyed or Parallel viewing can be difficult if you don't have control over your eye muscles. Try sitting away from the screen a bit or just get some practicing. There are a lot of cool videos like this on the net and tutorials on how to view 3D without glasses. If you still can't get it right, maybe you've made the wrong selection for "Parallel" or "Cross-eyed".

- If you're using glasses and the image seems to be inside out or not working at all, then use your glasses the other way around. If you still can't view them in 3D, you might have a burned out, dull or discolored monitor.

-STILL not working with glasses? Make sure you're using anaglyph glasses and not polarized glasses (like Disney RealD). YouTube doesn't support polarized.

GLASSES OR WITHOUT GLASSES?
Anaglyph glasses makes it easier for you to watch in 3D but it has a color distortion downfall. Overlapping the two pictures with your eyes gives you perfect color (just like using polarized glasses in modern theaters, but YouTube and most likely your monitor screen doesn't support that) but this creates two more images left and right which can be distracting.

I WANT TO VIEW THIS IN 2D:
Click on the "3D View Style" menu then select "Right Image Only" or "Left Image Only".

HOW DID I MAKE THIS?
Animating in 3D proves both a challenge and a pain, not to mention rendering both left and right views separately then combining both together, but the experience is rewarding. I'm sure there're better dedicated 3D programmes but this was made entirely in Sony Vegas Pro.

AlphaWolfKodi has gone 3D in line with YouTube's new 3D feature. WooHoo! =D
Please enjoy.

'Parallel' is better than 'cross eyed'

  • The 3D effect worked exceptionally well after switching the 3D settings to No Glasses and then making another adjustment to the No Glasses setting called Right Only. In Right Only, just cover your left eye and watch it in full screen only using your right eye and the 3D is there and clear.

  • If you close your left eye with your finger, it gives off a 3D effect that is actually pretty good. :)

  • you should do a video on nickelback- when we stand together.. great song too
