Shakespeare's great dark comedy is set in a society very much like ours - where pornography has become mainstream, where sex tapes of celebrities are public fodder, where politicians speak in the name of God, where everything is numbered and consumable, where all private lives are under constant surveillance - a control society. Measure for Measure is a psycho-sexual-political-thriller for our times.
