No argument, It's just I'm pretty sure it's Nadia. I've watched the entire film a few times, and it's definitely not Samia. I have the movie and I believe Nadia is listed in the credits, but I'd have to double check with my hubby on that (he can read Arabic and I can't). But it's definitely not Samia (I used to be a Samia fiend and know her like the back of my hand...). Whether it's actually Nadia or not is open to debate.

Nope, no mistake actually. Nadia was a dancer originally from Lebanon. Less famous maybe than Samia, but a great dancer in her own right. She was in several movies with Sabah (who is also Lebanese). There is a distinct difference I think between Nadia and Samia. I have a great clip of Nadia from a movie in the 60's (in color!). I will post when I have a chance! If you want to know more about nadia, just google her or do a search here on youtube. I think there are a few clips...

This is indeed Nadia Gamal, but she was never from Libanon. She was a Greek- Italian belly dancer (Greek on her father's side), born in Alexandreia- Egypt. That also explains why she has a Greek surame, as her real name was Maria Carydias. Guys, just do your research before arguing points (wikipedia)

oh and no one even knew who samia was when i was there... things change over time anyway what the fuck does it matter.. there were lots of great belly dancers.. my new bride is one too but the song is what i like the best and of course sabahs voice its soooo sexy lol actually she sounds a lot like my baby the same international accent.. you cant tell where the f shes from lol but its so so sexy.

@robindameshe i hope nadia and sabah and their families have fared better but ive read my fiances book.. at this time people were simply being exterminated in and around the green line.. i can barely read it it makes me break down and cry everytime i pick it up... she is armenian and she married into a typicly armenian family right dow the in??? dejweah??? a killing rape and torture ground...

i saw her... she danced for us at a party in 1974 maybe 1975 just before the war drove us out of lebanon... im marrying a girl that went back in 82 and nearly died... hit by shrapnel in the head... really ugly story actually..

actually it is Nadia Jamal , , she is greec born in egypt ! moved to lebanon in the 60s , Got married to lebanese actor his name was Munir Ma3asri , lived in lebanon , performed all over the world , the first to open Belly dancing school in North america, she had her own dancing style ! amazing energy on stage , i heard when she got sick left to canada (montreal) where her brother is and died there ... this videdo from Movie called , Izay Ansak with The Great farid Alatrash
