  • Great roll! I have it myself, although the tempo is a little too fast here.

  • Yeah, I was thinking that too. I need to recalibrate the piano. I've had this player mechanism in and out so many times to do repairs and adjustments on the action. One more thing to put on my to-do list. LOL

    Thanks for watching.

  • its a player piano. back in the old days (1900's) These were your CDS and records. THis was the Midi of the day.

  • you'd be surprized at how much keyboard can be covered. Sometimes I don't think it's possible covering so much space until I am reminded otherwise when I watch my dad play.

  • the piano rool tells the story of the wizard of oz in 8 minutes

  • @puppichow yeah, i love player pianos too - we never had the space for one but would have been a great exercise machine for me- i would have had it playing all the greats such as 'I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts' and 'Dueling Banjos' yes, that is available for player piano.

  • AH! GHOST! This is awesome by the way!

  • Whoa i didn't know pianos could do that!

  • This is way better if you pedal the piano yourself.

  • This reminds me, Kennywood's Wurlitzer 153 plays this

  • My dad has one like this that we fixed. It is vacuum operated so if it doesn't have the pedals then there is just a very large vacuum motor in the bottom that you can hear if you are standing by the piano. The holes in the paper let air pass into the block which then operates a tiny valve that channels the vacuum pressure to activate the hammer for that note.

The colored valves moving is the vacuum operated motor that rolls the paper.

  • I love Player Pianos! :) you have to pump it though... it's an Exercise macine! XD

  • How does it work if no one is pumping it?

  • Outstanding medley! Exciting, authentic and well-arranged.
