    There are no brakes, speed its a guess, of 15mph maybe a bit faster with a good battery. The motor came out of a 240v mains electric qualcast lawnmower. I used an inverter to convert 12v DC into 240v AC ( I know it's not very efficient but it's what I had knocking around my garage)
