Since people insist upon asking about these devices, they need to be discussed ... The purpose of a "blow-off valve" or "diverter valve" on a gasoline engine is to give boost pressure someplace to go when the throttle plate is abruptly closed, to prevent operating the compressor in the "surge" regime. Since a diesel engine doesn't have a throttle plate, a gadget like this serves absolutely no purpose and has no business anywhere on a diesel engine.

@migastdi and to a ford transit ??

@Jukonja Go do some research on what a BOV is actually for.

which car is it????

brate gde da nabavim ovo??? treba mi :))
When you shift a diesel engine the rpm drops which greatly decreases the air flow so a blow off valve is still useful to keep the turbo spooled up.

only that this blow of valve DECREASES air pressure even more and doesn't help not one bit :)

All blow off valves decrease air pressure that's what they are made to do blow off excess air pressure. When the engine slows down suddenly like during a shift excess air pressure builds up between the turbo and the engine this excess pressure slows down the turbo so you get a blow off valve to relieve this pressure and keep the turbo blades spinning fast.

you are correct, but this BOV does not have a function. when the diesel turbo spools down and this "BOV" kicks in, it just slows it down even more. the gasoline turbo BOV reduces the overpressure that appears when the throttle valve closes, thus keeping the turbo rolling and doesn't let it overspeed. he could just put a speaker that does *PSSSTH* when he lets of the gas pedal, it would be much more safer and conveniet :)
