An ex-marine told me at the 1982 VietNam Memorial dedication as I searched for my brother's name on the 'wall', "Life is about loss and dealing with it". His words don't make it any easier.
Time helps heal and allows the preservation of the 'good stuff'.

Since you'll never be forgotten we pledge to you today; A hallowed place within our hearts
Is where you'll always stay.
If tears could build a stairway, and heartache make a lane
We would walk the path to heaven
And bring you back again.

A million times we needed you, A million times we cried If love alone could have saved you, You never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, In death we love you still In our hearts you hold a piece No one could ever fill. But now we know you want us To mourn for you no more, To remember the happy times Life still has much in store.

Luke must have been very special to you, it's so obvious in your creating this excellent posting. Your loss is past obvious.
I know.
I was 17 when I lost my 20 year old brother, my idol, my hero and my best pal. VietNam devistated many families but I learned to remember ONLY the "good stuff" and have done my best to move on with my life. I think we're supposed to.

Thank you for your wonderful words. Not one year has passed since we lost our beloved brother and friend. I can only assume that 40 have passed since you lost your brother during the Vietnam War. My prayers are with you.

..The tragedy doesn't end here..
May the Love of God and the Fellowship of the Holy Communion rest and remain with each and every one of you.
Amen..
