@batavicus Yes, I guess it was the time when many people wanted a chopper, but there was nothing but HD on the market. Shortly after that the japanese manufacturers came out with those "soft-choppers". Still no real choppers. I owned a LTD 250 in the early 80ies.
Have it the way you like, no accidents and a good life!
By the way, did you know there was a manufacturer in netherlands for mopeds (50cc) with the name "batavus"? Jost google for pictures :-)
Greetings from germany

Amicus Plato, sed magis amica Honda CB 750. Yes, I'll keep it. It's hard to imagine the circumstances that would make me part from this dear old reliable friend. As for the sissy bar, it was there when I bought it in 1983 and it would take a torch to take it off, so it'll stay too. Besides, it's great for long trips, which I may take again on this bike just as soon as I put a clutch and head gasket in it. Just replaced the battery and it runs great. (And yes, helmet is used on real rides.)

Great Bike, give it some care. I don´t like the sissy bar, looks too much wannabe-chopper. Well, it´s up to you.
Please use a helmet. :D

@Kaffimusic : Yup, always wear a helmet, unless I'm making a short video! I don't like the looks of the sissy bar either, but it was on the bike when I bought it and I doubt I could get it off. Besides, back when it was my touring bike (ok, my only bike, the sissy bar let me put a large duffel bag upright on the rack. A local Kawasaki dealer told me he sold lots of that particular rack-bar combo in the 1970s.
