Israel is not and never has been opposed to sending humanitarian aid to Gaza. In 2008-09, Israel delivered 59,280 tons of humanitarian supplies, 3,600,000 liters of fuel and 15 ambulances. It evacuated 68 Gazans for medical treatment in Israel and made numerous infrastructural repairs of sewage, water and electricity. It declared a daily three-hour ceasefire, which Hamas would not observe, for delivery of goods. Only people completely out of touch with reality would accuse Israel of 'barbarism'.

@westernise The flotilla's claim that it was sending humanitarian supplies to Gaza automatically means they were? So why didn't they allow their cargo to be inspected? If they were 'peaceful' why did they attack the Israeli troops with knives and sticks? If a foreign party offers 'goods' to America. Should America not inspect these 'goods' before admitting them? If a stranger approaches a child offering her sweets, should the child automatically trust the stranger?

Galoway supports Hamas. Hamas preaches the destruction of Israel, America and Jews as a people. Hamas rejoiced when the twin towers were hit on 9/11. Hamas rejoices when people die-when Jews die, when Americans die, when ITS OWN PEOPLE DIE. Palestinian children raised under the Hamas regime grow up not in hopes of becoming scholars and athletes. They aspire to become suicide bombers that bring about death and destruction to scores of people. Galloway supports them. Who is the real 'cancer' then?
