Lol, the Guy in the backseat looked totally bored...

The electric engine is used at all times, not just under 10 mph. At low speed it's electric only, after that BOTH engines work together.

at least if this damn thing runs away he wont have to worry about it too much

@bgildersleeve Non-aerodynamic car ? Man, it has a 0,26 CX, 0,25 for 3rd generation, tell me when you see a car of this category with the same cx
-
@bgildersleevDude did you notice the defusor on the back of hte prius and the tiny air inlets in its front?! that car is super aerodynamik its kinda the sence that ist is slippery and does not create as much drag so it uses less fuel. The only other car in that pricesecment designed to be aerodynamik in such extreme way is the blue motion modes and not even those get close to the prius. The prius is designed in a wind channel and then made bigger for praktcality. its a toyota so no need for cool

The only funny thing about this video is that the Prius is burning more fuel at this speed than A Bugatti Veyron going 400.

Is prius both gas and electric

to racing jajja

The guy in the back just took a big hit of a joint when the camera pointed at him
-
@legomaniacman why not? he isn't even going that fast,
-
@bgildersleeve oh and by the way, it is the most aerodynamic car in production, it has the lowest drag coefficiency figure one could ever ask for, it does not shake when pushed to 130, it does not go on "full-gas" mode above 10mph and it can go faster than than in electric
-
@bgildersleeve the 2010 model goes up to about 38mph in electric entirely and can reach 130 for short bursts before engine management kicks in lowering it to 125ish
dude, that nothing to brag about.. show me when a prius goes over 125^^

...unfortunately it can't. Toyata installs a governor on the accelerator that limits the speed. Actually, the fact that it's a hybrid has nothing to do with overall speed since it's on full-gas mode anytime the speed is more than 10 mph. The electric engine is only used during idle and very low speeds (city driving). The only reason I posted this is because it's funny to see such a non-aerodynamic car going so fast that the frame shakes.
