Martin Bashir interviews Tommy Davis and asks him about his beliefs.

One of the main reasons critics protest the Church of Scientology is its lack of honesty. Scientology is not upfront about its core beliefs via its confidential scriptures. Those who reach Scientology level OT III and above are forbidden to speak about it with non-Scientologists or even the Scientologists who have not made it to that level, and it would be a high crime to do so.

Using training routines to misdirect reporters, Scientology spokespersons frequently lie about the doctrine of Xenu, body thetans, and other facts about their "religion". Tommy Davis, spokesperson for the Church of Scientology international, is interviewed by Martin Bashir of ABC Nightline and confronted about these scriptures.

We have nothing against the beliefs of Scientologists, but the Church of Scientology should be open and honest about them.

  • Shystology

  • @slowburner1 Kind of *makes sense* that he'd get offended -- in the Scientology *making sense* way, though, doesn't it...?

  • Well he did what he said he was going to do. What else is there to say.

  • nice one for re-uploading, a previous poster of this video has had it removed because of, surprise surprise, multiple claims of copyright infringement.

  • Is it true that your beliefs originated from a hobo, tripping on 'shrooms in the dessert, talking to a burning bush?

  • @MrRiggyRiggs

The source of the offense is what's important, not being offended. Saying religious people get offended easily is not representative of Tommy Davis' actions. The real reason why he was offended was because it would be a high crime in Scientology to admit the secret doctrine of Xenu to non-Scientologists. It is for this reason that low-level Scientologists naturally deny Xenu (they haven't made it to that level yet), and why high-level Scientologists lie about it.

  • Scientology... When your beliefs are so stupid that you feel stupid when asked about them.

  • What a fool.

  • lol religion

  • I don't get how people still don't understand that the whole point of scientology is to claim itself a religion so it can benefit from multiple tax breaks and loopholes that churches enjoy. Why do you think so many very wealthy people are "believers"? Because it's worth it.
