Sue Andrus and Carol Lamoureux love training their golden retrievers Trooper and Rocket that may someday help someone physically disabled become more independent. Both are volunteers with the nonprofit organization Helping Paws in Hopkins, which breeds dogs and hands them over to volunteers who train them to be live-in help for the physically disabled. For Tara Wirtjes, who is wheelchair bound, having her in-service dog Rue has improved her life greatly. All three Champlin women know the difference a dog can make in a person's life.
