the artist is Mark Ryden, a well-known California artist. this picture is the cover of Les Baxter's 1996 double cd box (with 40 songs) called exotic moods of les baxter (which is available on-line for a high price). Ryden also did the artwork for Martin Denny's double cd box (with 40 songs) called exotic moods of martin denny which is available on-line for a lower price). i better stop--hope this is not TMI.

I've always loved this song and collection. Like going to the Kahiki for dinner in the 1950s. Really takes one away to a world and a time when there was true adventure.
