@KingofComputing It's not so much red tape, but:

-Removing so much debris through Manhattan traffic

-Fixing subway lines and the retaining walls

-Designing something that is a memorial yet still a functional structure, and knowing it will be in the crosshairs of every possible terrorist attack. The structural redundancy in the Freedom Tower is incredible, and delivering the materials is a monster task.

@KingofComputing Don't be ignorant. First of all that site is practically sacred so we couldn't just do anything to it, it took a while to decide what buildings to put there and what the memorial would be like. It was redesigned several times. Second the govt has nothing to do with this. Third there were numerous controversies and financial setbacks and the 2008 recession didn't help either. But at least now we're well on track, all the buildings should be done before 2015.

what amazes me is that it's taking THIS DAMN LONG TO REBUILD IT! CAN"T THE GOVERNMENT DO ANYTHING RIGHT?! for crying out loud it only took just over a year to do the empire state building in 1930 why does it take us in 2011 over 10 years now? there is WAY too much red tape these days!
