In November of the year when daughters in Japan turn seven it's a tradition for them to dress in kimono and take pictures. In recent years, many also dress in "princess" dresses as another expression of the Western cultural influence. I took photos during our daughters' photo session to document the moment. 200 shots in 3 hours -- more than one photo per minute -- have been trimmed down to 45. The background music was mixed by my friend, Rennie Foster, one of the top techno DJ's in Japan (something he mixed previously, not just for me).
