Jack Hanna, the Director Emeritus of the Columbus, Ohio, zoo, is probably known throughout the world. He appears on many shows, such as David Letterman's evening show and the Ellen DeGeneres show. He makes other appearances in many places.

This does not necessarily impress the gorillas though. They decide that even Hanna and all the TV cameras are not enough and go right ahead and charge him.

Actually, the charges are a greeting. The gorillas want some attention.

Jack Hannah is shown talking to Colleen Marshal of NBC.

The Columbus Zoo, Ohio, is number 1 in the country USA Travel Guide (Columbus Dispatch 2009.03.01 p. A3)

  • mmm...but u love animals? Is very bad look them in prisons especially like this one. Really is teribble, and u put a video where a gorill is like attack..they need to use energy in freedom. If don't have happen tht can become aggresive. Please don't go to the zoo.

  • The gorilla was just greeting him. It was a play attack. The trouble isn't zoos. People are taking up the animal's spaces.

  • Um, they are not trying to attack him.

  • Meant as a joke, see the comments section.

  • The sad thing is, of course, that without gorillas in captivity, we can very easily lose them entirely because of all the natural habitat we are taking from them. There's no guarantee of their survival as long as we humans are on this Earth.

  • Gesus....can't never be like freedom. their space is km2 and u put there. try to stay in ur home without go outside for all ur life. if i don't wrong gorilla don't lives in Ohio and i know that giant chimp that u show in ur videos die for the extreme stress that u give putting in that room to show to people. is terrible. is terrible.

  • Animals are here for our amusements.....get over it......one species dies out....we can refocus our ammusement somewhere else.

  • we are the reason they buy and sell animals, we won't go to the zoo unless we get to see babies....

  • first of all... jack hanna knows quite a bit... you'd know if you picked up one of his books... second.. he doesnt get the animals he shows fom animal dealers... when he was younger.. in his twenties... exotic animal dealing was completely legal and no one saw anything wrong with it.. and he did it... he doesnt do it anymore.. his animals come through captive breeding practices.. Zoos don't take the old animals throw them out and bring in new ones... they get males or femals of a certain species

  • Were you aware of just how little Jack Hanna actually knows? Also, he uses animal dealers for the specimens used on the shows you mentioned. Most of these dealers have been fined for violations of the AWA and also sell excess zoo animals to canned hunts and slaughterhouses. Read "Animal Underworld" by Alan Green. He is a journalist who followed the paperwork to expose the way zoos get rid of their animals to dealers so that they can have new babies every year including endangered species.

  • Lol it done the same thing to me when I was there!!!But the person said that the gorrila had a heart desease or somthing
