The Academy Award nominated documentary, "My Country, My Country," by Laura Poitras, is an unforgettable journey into the heart of war-ravaged Iraq in the months leading up to the January 2005 elections. Symbolized by fingers marked with purple ink, the 2005 elections posed challenges to all sides of the debate about the war.
"My Country, My Country" premiered on the P.O.V. series on October 25, 2006. The film was recently nominated for a 2007 News & Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding Continuing Coverage of a News Story — Long Form. Winners will be announced on September 24 in New York City.

"Laura Poitras has seen deeper into the tragedy of Iraq than any other filmmaker. She has created an epic story of ordinary life in extraordinary times. It is hard to imagine there will be a better film about this war." — George Packer, The New Yorker
"Without comment but with unusual sensitivity, the director, Laura Poitras, exposes the emotional toll of occupation on Iraqis and United States soldiers alike . . . " — Jeannette Catsoulis, The New York Times
"[Poitras'] eye is a compassionate one, and never censorious. . . . My Country, My Country . . . supplemented with a truly haunting and often beautiful music score by singer-songwriter
Kadhum al-Saher, is a tragedy that everyone should bear witness to." — Verne Gay, Newsday
I wish the full-documentary was available on Youtube. I'm making a playlist "America at War", that brings together full length films. What for? Not sure. Anyways, this would be a good balance to the American perspective "Operation Homecoming".

@USAF2003 I'm so sorry for my bad english in my previous comments. That was like 2 years ago, but I still stand behind what I said about America. And hopefully one day that whole thing about Iraq and Amercia would be vanished, but that's only a dream off course. I don't see that happening. And thank you for your kind of supporting comment.

He's right, and I think he's worth much more than Obama. If he was running, I would vote for him. And he is rite to love his country, I love my france, and everybody has a right to loving their country.
