@artifact1a because you might not know how to do a bottom turn to set up a barrel any good surfer can do it all... some waves demand a bottom turn and some dont....if you try your tactic at most Hawaiian breaks you are getting pitched...you have to drop in first most of the time

yeah. it's true, when it gets a big bigger it's a fat wave. it's more top to bottom when it's smaller. i first went there 20 years ago, then it got over run with brazilians.
