Why a brother turned from Salafi to Hanafi [HD]

The speaker is brother Sayf Al Mujahid. He converted/reverted to Islam 2 years ago, and was a former Salafi. He talks about why he made the transition to following a madhab despite his peers saying it was bid'ah, wrong e.t.c.

This video acts primarily as a reminder as to the favour Allah has blessed us with, that knowledge reaches us with hardly any effort done on our behalf. The least we can do is to learn the knowledge that has been compiled, sorted, deseminated, authenticated and transmitted over 1400 years after the demise of the Messenger of Allah [pbuh].

Ibn Abidin {a Ottoman Hanafi Jurist} said "Fiqh was planted by Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud, irrigated by Alqama, harvested by Ibrahim al-Nakh'i, threshed by Hammad, milled by Abu Hanifa, kneaded by Abu Yusuf, and baked by Shaybani. As a result, the Muslims are nourished by his bread".

@meaow002 If chosing one methodology over another [which has been prevelant for 1400 years amongst the greatest scholars] is rubbsih to you, then i suggest you fear Allah. Yes, Imam Abu hanifa was not like this, he was not a young man who, from salafi became Hanafi, i think that is clear. Alhumdulilah, i am not looking for your aproval, if i am doing good may Allah keep me on it, if not then may he put me on the right path. I am not afriad to say this, but many salafies dont even consider this.

Asalamualaikum brother, Muslims should follow al quran and the authentic hadiths such as as Siha sittah. Alongside this if you need more support then I believe inshallah you can get advice from the four aemmah or from some trustworthy scholars. I believe it isn't nesessary to stick to one imam probably you find a better advice about one thing to another imam. And you can never say one imam is better than the other one. Brother may Allah guide you do not preach fitnah.

Asalama aleikum warh wabr; Ok there seems to be a bit of confusion! Are u saying the Prophet Muhammad(scw) didnt come with a deen thats a complete? That we need to FOLLOW a madhab frm one of the big scholars, in order to follow Islam. Yes, the scholars have done wonderful job, Rahimu'ALLAH! But, its NOT neccessary to bcome a Shafi or Hanafi! Its neccessary though to become a muslim! We have Quran and Sunnah! Which cover everything! Smaller-ambigious matters we take the STRONGER narration!
