Toney hes such a great competitor nearly 90 fights now and i never seen him throw a intentinal low blow, elbow, headbut, or any faul. he dosent eaven complain wen hes been hit low..the guys a one of a kind and people love him

@dougerber yea if you like 2 grown man laying on each other in spandex for 15 minutes or fights where the first clean punch landed ends the fight cus they got no chins than yes MMA is better...Im not going to lie i watch a ton of MMA but most the time im bored and there are great athletes but mostly boring fights not one MMA fight was as good as that last round or any of Morales Barrerra fights or Paq vs Maroles anything of that caliber

@Puma722 yeah i agree but then again having watched james through his career he aint really been hurt ever...he just took it full pelt and beat the guy down...it was almost as if he didnt know the punch had even landed! awesome chin always! that moment was special for me when i watched this fight back in 03' and i remember sayin WOW! this guys chin is rock!!! glad someone saw the same as me buddy

Toney's craftsmanship on the inside is flawless.The best I have ever seen period when fighting inside a telephone booth.The way he slips rolls and counters punches with no room is amazing to me.

I don't know how Lederman says Jirov has effective aggresiveness. Toney doesn't seem moved by any of the combinations and he answers with harder cleaner punches. Round 9 looked like Jirov was beaten up and in round 10 he was wobbling from the accumulation of punches but Lederman gives 9 to Jirov. Toney's counters are massive and Jirov's head snaps sideways and backwards everytime. Jirov is reaching and slapping.

@MIKESOWELL Yep. Fight of the Year. For the cruiserweight belt too, if I am not mistaken. Toney went up and fought Holyfield shortly after this. Personally had this fight even going into the last round. Even without the knockdown I would have had Lights Out winning. Great fight though

Oh yea, Jirov was doing pretty good putting on a ton of pressure on Toney. His work rate in this fight was incredible. Toney is just slicker/smarter when it comes to ring generalship.

Toney was definitely woredown after that fight though.
