1.03 - The First Step To Moving On

Brooke is very happy that Haley's back in Tree Hill, while Haley is still trying to get comfortable with the whole situation. But she came back and will stay for Brooke.

When Brooke heads over to class, Haley walks by a group of girls who obviously don't like her and they make fun of her. Nathan sees this and thinks back to when he first noticed Haley. He seems very interested and decides to get closer to her by asking her to tutor him the next day. At first Haley refuses saying she has too much going on right now but Nathan doesn't give up. Eventually she says yes and quickly walks away after.

Peyton catches Lucas staring at her and seems a little annoyed by it. But Lucas keeps staring, it seems he has a very big crush on her.

Once again, Brooke goes to the bar and she meets Dean again. But this time, instead of bickering the two play a game of pool and start flirting.

The next day at school, Lucas sees Haley and Nathan walking into the tutor center, smiling. He doesn't seem to happy about that. Later at the café he talks to Haley about it and tries to warn her about Nathan. He tells her that he doesn't trust the guy and Haley acts understanding, but when Lucas asks her to stop tutoring Nathan she refuses saying she made him a promise.

Brooke now knows about Haley tutoring Nathan and decides to play matchmaker. She tries to get Haley to join the cheerleading squad so she can get closer to Nathan. Haley refuses and denies even liking Nathan.

We find out that Sam and Peyton have been in contact this whole time through e-mail and Peyton's upset cause it's been a while since she got one from him. She thinks back to the beginning of the summer when they first got to know each other.

At their first tutoring session, Nathan starts to flirt with Haley and Haley tries to ignore it. But when Nathan gives her a little gift she realizes that she might actually start liking Nathan.
