According to Pat Murphy, author of Plan C, 8-10% of a home's energy loss is due to leaks, and 50% of that is through windows. He suggests to also install double glazed windows and use thick curtains to keep the heat in. I can't afford new windows, but I will certainly be making some curtains! :)

Make sure the weatherstripping is the right thickness.
If it's too thick, it might wrinkle and prevent a tight seal or the door from closing easily
