Been using the Noatak as my main hiking pack this season. http://www.maxpedition.com. Also see the hook & loop double pocket insert inside to contain smaller items.

  • I really enjoy your video reviews and you helped me make up my mind that the Noatak was exactly what I needed for Geo Caching and as an EDC bag for taking my book and what not to work with me. I would like to put my Izula in the same place you have yours though and not sure what that little mount is that you have on yours that goes around the molle straps. What is it exactly and where did you get it? How secure is it also have you ever felt like you may lose it in that position?

  • @jkulysses Thanks so much, JK. When I bought my Izula they only had the more expensive "Survival Kit" version. It came with some info cards, etc, and the molle clip. The sheath has screws in it to hold on that clip. Funny, as I just removed it from my Noatak yesterday to re-hook it to my Sitka. Sheath fits nice and snug under the molle webbing and the clip snaps sure. The Izula hangs upside down and I've never felt that its been loose or in danger of dropping. Hope you can pick one up. Its fab!

  • Hey great review, do you think a4 sized paperwork would fit in the main compartment?

  • @deeaxident Thanks, Dee. I checked this out for you when you posted your comment and I think I deduced that it does not. I think it fit right to the top and papers would have to be jammed in to zip the pack shut.

  • Hi! Thanks for the video, not sure if anyone pointed this out yet, I couldn't find it if they did, the area that you tuck the sternum strap into, is actually the access to the rear bladder area, not sure if they intended the tube to be fed thru there. also in response to a few comments, yes an iPad fits perfectly into that area, with a nook too.

  • @williesgrabngo1 Great info, Willie, Lots of folks ask if iPads fit in these packs and this was helpful.

  • @paul65544 Ah, good eye, Paul. That is a tac tie holding the excess strap in place. The pack came with a very nice 2" elastic band that held the strap but I went and hung my (loaded up) rolly poly on the elastic and broke it. Duh. There's like 3 other places I should have hung the RP on to. It's all good. ;) Enjoy your Noatak!

  • This video inspired me to get this back. Thanks.

What is that little black "doohicky" that's attached to the strap next to your Izula knife?

  • @tybeejeffro Hiya Jeffro. I don't have an iPad but would say that it very very likely will fit in the back bladder space. Good deal!

  • Could you fit and Ipad / netbook in that back bladder area? Great review by the way. Started out using a Thermite for an edc/ camera bag. Then progressed to Proteus and finally a Fatboy. Been wanting a bag to carry all my stuff comfortably and I think this one will do the trick!
